Documents

Create, organize, version, link, share, archive, and restore workspace documents.

LeenOps Documents is the shared document workspace for notes, knowledge articles, contract content, project pages, and general business documents. Documents keep their revision history and can be linked to records elsewhere in the workspace.

Document library

Open Documents to search and filter records by type, status, access mode, owner, or linked entity. A document contains:

  • a title and Markdown content;
  • a configured document type;
  • a current revision and immutable version history;
  • workspace, restricted, or private access;
  • links to CRM, project, people, and other workspace records;
  • optional explicit user or team permissions.

Access modes

ModeVisibility
WorkspaceWorkspace members with Documents access can read it.
RestrictedThe owner, explicit users/teams, and document managers can read it.
PrivateThe owner, explicit users/teams, and document managers can read it.

Permissions are checked again on every read or mutation. An API key does not bypass a private document: MCP acts as the current API-key creator and loses access if that person is removed from the workspace or no longer has the required role.

Versions and restore

Each save creates an immutable version. Updates use the document's expected revision to prevent one editor from silently overwriting another editor's newer work. Restoring an older version creates a new current revision; it does not erase the intervening history.

Documents can be linked as primary, related, source, or generated_from. Links are validated against the workspace record and appear on both the document and supported entity views.

Reusable templates

The template library supports email, document, checklist, script, form, and report templates. Templates can be cloned, updated, archived, and restored. Archived templates remain available for historical references.

AI and integrations

Documents exposes 22 tools to the in-app assistant and MCP. See Documents AI and MCP tools for the exact catalog, permissions, examples, and safety behavior.
