Project Roadmaps
Plan projects on a portfolio timeline, compare active and completed work, review dates and teams, and switch to a detailed project list.
The Project Roadmaps page gives workspace members one portfolio-level view of project timing. It reads the current workspace's projects and presents them as a monthly timeline or a detailed list, so you can compare planned start and end dates without opening every project separately.
Open the roadmap
- Select the workspace whose projects you want to review.
- Open Projects → Roadmaps.
- Choose Timeline or List in the page header.
The header shows the number of active and completed projects. Cancelled projects remain available in the portfolio data but are excluded from the active count.
Roadmaps are workspace-scoped. If no workspace is selected, choose or create one before opening the portfolio roadmap.
Timeline view
Timeline is the default view. Projects are ordered by start date and plotted across monthly columns using their configured start and end dates.
| Element | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Project list | All projects in timeline order |
| Project bar | The period between a project's start and end dates |
| Status color | Active, completed, on-hold, cancelled, or another project status |
| Today marker | The current date within the visible portfolio range |
| Project details | Name, description, status, dates, team, and duration after selecting a project |
Projects without both a start and end date cannot be positioned as timeline bars. Add dates to the project record, then return to Roadmaps to compare it with the rest of the portfolio.
List view
Use List when exact project details matter more than relative timing. Each project card shows:
- Project name and description
- Current status
- Start date and end date
- Assigned team, when present
Select a project card to open its roadmap detail panel.
Create a project from Roadmaps
Click New Project in the header. After the project is created, it appears in the portfolio list. Set both dates if you also want it to appear as a timeline bar.
Troubleshooting
The roadmap is empty
Confirm that the correct workspace is selected and that it contains at least one project. Use New Project if the workspace has no project records yet.
A project is listed but has no timeline bar
Open the project and add valid start and end dates. The list view can still show projects whose dates are not set, while the timeline needs both dates to place a bar.
Projects fail to load
Use Retry on the error state. If the error continues, confirm your workspace access and contact LeenOps support.
